It is my grand daughters 4th birthday today! I am waiting for Deacon Larry
to get home from Church so that we can call her.
If she asks me when we are coming for a visit, I am really going to lose it. I guess I just have to trust that God will help me find a way. To visit.
The picture is of Rosalie and her big sister Lucia.

About Susan Kehoe
I am the wife of a Catholic deacon living in Des Moines Iowa. My husband Larry and I have been married 39 years. But the deacon’s wife gig is a new twist. Larry was ordained in August of 2006.
We have two children and five grandchildren. The oldest grandchild is ten and the youngest is three. Our daughter and her family live in Ireland, and our son and his family live in Franklin Massachusetts.
Sometimes Grandma and Grandpa need to move closer. My parents would move closer if my mom’s health could bear it. Think about it. Life’s so short. This is so painful for you, why not be closer. Children benefit so much from having an older person around. We need one another in community. Give it a thought.
I’m loving your blog.
Thank you Sue for your kind comment. Unfortunately, it is not possible to move overseas at this time. Our children live in Ireland and Scotland. While my husband is a deacon, he also needs to hold down a secular day job. Deacons are not usually paid a salary.
There is also the problem that my husband could not adjust to returning home to Ireland after working in the US since college. That is why we are on this side of the Atlantic while are children are on the other side.
