In light of the previous post, I thought that I would share my husbands favorite Steven Colbert video clip. He takes on the so called scripture scholar Bart Ehrman. Deacon’s favorite line is when Colbert opines on John’s Gospel, The first three were rough drafts. Heh. Matthew, Mark, and Luke as rough drafts.

I am the wife of a Catholic deacon living in Des Moines Iowa. My husband Larry and I have been married 39 years. But the deacon’s wife gig is a new twist. Larry was ordained in August of 2006.
We have two children and five grandchildren. The oldest grandchild is ten and the youngest is three. Our daughter and her family live in Ireland, and our son and his family live in Franklin Massachusetts.

Wonderful stuff. Catholics are wonderful at comedy. We’re almost as awesome as Jews at telling jokes. We need another 3000 years of practice to catch up.
wasn’t the 4 blind man analogy exactly the point of Dr. Ehrman? Gospel authors failed to give their account accurately so as to perceive an elephant as wall..snake..sphere…
