Top Ten Bogus Arguments In Favor of the HHS Mandate

I hate the fact that the attack on religious freedom by the current administration is forcing me to (probably) vote for the not Obama candidate. Voting none of the above is no longer an option.

The American Catholic has a great post up which demolishes the 10 Most cited arguments in favor of the HHS Mandate.

You are so naive. Catholics abandoned Rick “santimonious” Sanctorum in droves in Ohio. Catholic women vote no differently than other women on issues they care about. Having control of their own fertility decisions and having cheap access to birth control are pretty high on the list. This crazy anti-woman GOP swing will cost them in November. The bishops and priests have absolutely no business getting up in the pulpit and telling people their (incorrect) version of events.

Sheri there are many reasons for a practicing, faithful Catholic to not want to vote for Rick Santorum. His position on war, immigration, and torture, for example, are not in keeping with the Catholic faith. Prior to the administrations attack on religious freedom, I was going to write on my ballot “none of the above”. Now I will have to hold my nose and voter for the not Obama candidate.

As for the rest of your comment what can I say? You have bought in to the lie that the ability to have sex without consequences is a right. The bishops have every right to speak out. The have been given the authority and the duty from Jesus Christ to proclaim the Truth. Oh and Truth is revealed by God and not by opinion polls.

Please follow the link in the post. Perhaps if you actually read what the bogus arguments are, you will realize that you have been sold a bill of goods.

I am not naive. The so called freedom to treat sex as mere entertainment has had devastating effects on our society especially woman.

  3. Rick Santorum won the primaries last night. Not everyone has abandoned him.

Beautiful response Susan. Very well-written. The only anti-women around are people who insist sexual liberty, sex outside of marriage, abortion, and the free love ‘if it feels good, just do it’ attitude are ‘liberating.’ These people absolutely hate women and their God-given gifts to conceive. Furthermore why should society pay for your utterly irresponsible and entitled method of ‘birth prevention.’ In today’s vile society sex and children are treated as commodities.

At least you have some options in the US. I live in Canada, a country where there is (for eg.) No abortion law in any of our provinces. It is sheer madness up here re. civil liberties….same-sex marriage, abortion, contraception, IVF…. freedom of religion is becoming non-existant here…. I pray that left-leaning, so-called progressive Catholics and other denominations, as this goes beyond Catholicism, wake up and realize what harm our silence is doing and that ‘social justice’ for eg. begins in the womb and does not include promoting sexual irresponsibility and perversion.
        God Bless You. V.
